School is strating for Hanneke Ippisch. The parade is in there town her mom gets her new clothes for her, red pants and a white t-shirt. Hanneke gets to pull her cart in the parade. She makes a sign and it saysn "who comes along to Schagen at the sea". Hanneke starts talking about where she grew up and what her house is like. And how a man would come with white bread every other day, and on the other days he would come with rye bread.

On sunday not many of the boats would move. Hanneke also has a boyfriend called Teun. He rides his bike to her house every morning to take her to school and from school. They bearly talk to.

The Armistice papers were signed between the high commands of the allied conquerors and the defeated german high commands. They have won the war and are having a great celebration. But some German soldiers had been hiding in the building and, unable to accept the German defeat. They used there machine guns to mow down many of the Dutch men,women,and children.
